I never knew Aussies could be born without their tails... Sara, you know soo much!!!! But I've heard of docking in many breeds (breed standard), and also fixing the ears so that they point up (ear cropping) (doberman and great dane)

Docking and cropping are very common, unfortunately. It's mostly just for cosmetic purpose, though docking some working/gundog breeds is important. Cropping should be illegal like it is in the UK and other European countries!

I agree... There's no reason to alter the dogs appearance unless it is for safety reasons.

EXACTLY!!!! I don't understand why people dock dog's tails or crop their ears for show. They look better without it!!!!! (But somehow it became breed standard)

Plus tails are so much cuter! even though they can be lethal weapons.
