Welcome to DTA! It is a great and welcoming community! Positive reinforcement is a great way of training! I encourage you to clicker train your pup if you weren't already planning on it, as its a great and very effective method of training! If you have any questions, be sure to ask us! Welcome to D.T.A. Yes Positive Reinforcement is the best way to train a puppy (or older dog for that matter). So do buy a clicker before your new puppy arrives.
