Eyes Covered Jumping

I saw on TV police dogs jumping with eyes covered to increase confidence on the guidance. It's very impressive to see. Have you ever heard about that?? What do you think about? It would be safe to try at home?(By the moment I think it could be dangerous)

Well police dogs have to deal with a lot of different circumstances. They have to complete tasks (jumping for example) without hesitation and refusing because they can't see anything (whene there is smoke for example).
I also think it is something with starts with making the dog confident not seeing anything and relying on your voice.
Personally I wouldn't train it, the dog can't masure the hight/distance and therefor should listen immediately if you told him to jump, while having made speed (running).

Thats interesting, never heard of that before. It makes sense that it would help the dog trust you, and have confidence in your commands. I will try that a little bit with Milo next week.
