Once I play fetch with her, I'll start up with obedience again and intersperse fetch inbetween! Normally I do obedience, and then play fetch afterward. Instead of fetch after, I plan to play fetch first, get her tired that way, and then do obedience! Good idea? (my "I just realized" thread has this in it too. You can reply there, if you want!)

Yeah I think it's a good idea!! I think dogs tend to focus more when you tire them out (especially dogs like border collies) Does Missy like fetch? Maybe you could use fetch as a reward for doing something good in obedience? When I use toy rewards with Shivon, I use tugging. Maybe fetch would work for you, as a toy reward?

Yep it does help with Bella whos nervous and likes to bark at people in parks, i play fetch to keep her distracted.

Thanks, Dogster and Tif! I played fetch, and fetch only, at the park with Missy today... she did go for a car, but I told her "leave it" and she turned around and came back to the game. So, I'm hoping over time it works!
